Our Healthcare system
Healthcare, our nation’s largest business has not adequately taught us to take responsibility for our own health. We have become dependent on artificial methods that only temporarily mask the symptoms and consequently ignore the reality of what’s really going on. Alternative healthcare is derived from the public’s search for an alternative to drugs and surgery- attempts to find solutions frree from difficult side effects so often associated with these mainstream modalities.
The ancients derived methods that date back to antiquity of how to treat the human body by natural means. The systems of Ayurveda and Chinese medicine are thousands of years old and are thought to have been developed by intuition, observation and have been proven to be accurate. They are more natural, gentle alternative approaches that may take longer, but they encourage and help the body to heal itself.

Welcome to Structural yoga and thank you for being here. My purpose is to introduce yoga therapy as a branch of complimentary medicine. Yoga therapy originated in India thousands of years ago which offers a non-surgical, non-drug approach. The reason people are drawn to yoga is that it nurtures and restores them whereas the modern world tends to wear us down. With a little practice everyday, we can return ourselves back to optimal physical, mental and emotional health.
Since age fifteen, I have practiced yoga on and off, bought lots of yoga books, tapes and went to class every now and then. It wasn’t until I met yoga therapist, Mukunda Stiles, who told me what I needed to do in terms of my body and not someone else’s. After following his recommendations and doing some diligent practice did I begin to experience profound results. I also found it didn’t take years or a lot of time to improve my health and well-being. Yoga therapy is an alternative, complimenting other types of healthcare.
